Becoming the Employer of Choice

An integral part of Service Performance’s corporate vision is to become the “Employer of Choice.” Respect for the individual is at the heart of our corporate value system; working at Service Performance must be both rewarding and fun. We strive to be the employer of choice by hosting company picnics, distributing turkeys and children’s gifts during the holidays, offering interest free loans, holding English as a second language classes and rewarding outstanding employees.

As a service company, our employees are our most valuable resource. We have developed solid approaches to recruitment, training, performance recognition and employment benefits to produce a work force that has a turnover rate well below industry standards. And our customer ultimately reaps the benefits with custodial staff that is better motivated and more qualified.

Motivation and Incentive Programs

  • Employee Recognition: Beyond training, Service Performance has developed a unique program to honor coworkers who have shown exemplary work habits and gone beyond what is expected in their daily tasks.
  • Customer Service: The Star Performer. When a customer writes a letter of commendation about an employee who performs beyond what is normally expected, we recognize the employee among peers and management by displaying a plaque commemorating the accomplishment on our “Wall of Honor” for one year. Teams may also be “Star Performers.”
  • Personal Characteristics: Above & Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD). Nominated by fellow employees for going beyond the norm, the exemplary worker is recognized at a special celebration. His/her picture and description of their valuable characteristic is displayed for one year on our “Wall of Honor.” Teams, as well as individuals, may be recognized as “ABCD” performers.
  • Safety Incentives: Safety Awards. Every month employees are awarded $50 gift certificates for being accident free. Service Performance safety training is paying employees more than $8,000 per month through the SPC Safety Club.
  • Employee Referral Program: Any employee who refers a new employee to Service Performance is rewarded a $50 gift certificate after the candidate has meet all hiring criteria.

Family-Oriented Events: Special occasions are commemorated with celebrations and giveaways for every Service Performance employee, regardless of employment status.

  • Free Thanksgiving Turkeys . Frozen turkeys are distributed to all our corporate offices to be given to every employee.
  • Holiday Gifts. Employees are invited to bring their children to receive a holiday present given to them by “Santa Claus”. The gifts are age appropriate from infant to young teenagers.
  • Employee Picnics. Each Service Performance office holds an annual picnic in a local park with entertainment, children’s activities, food and beverages. Free to employees and their families. The total costs for our offices to hold these parties is $50,000 per year, but we feel this is the right thing to do in giving back to our frontline employees. We know of no other company in our industry that extends this courtesy to their front-line staff.

Ultimately, our employees feel more appreciated, are better motivated, understand their important role in our overall success. Most importantly, this leads to less turnover, better quality work and more consistency in servicing your facility.
